FACE ID, 2021

The Face ID project lasted two years and took part in the Special project "Hug and Cry" at the 6th Ural Industrial Biennale at Sinara Art Gallery, Yekaterinburg.

This project is a long-term study of the disappearance of the facets of one's own personality when interacting with institutions in the field of Russian contemporary art. I have been conducting this research on self-identification as an artist in the art environment and my interaction with institutions and art communities for a year now. An investigation of the impact of participation in institutional Open Calls and the rejections that come from them, which destroy my personality gradually from the impact of the rejection of me by the Art environment, which then sublimates and reassembles in an emancipatory direction through individuality and assembly levels into a new physicality. Every day I take a step into contemporary art in Russia by sending another application for a competition, studying construction, taking another course at the institute, and every day I create a copy of myself out of plaster, putting yourself in context with the statement "I Am! I exist!" I place myself in the context of contemporary art myself, since I was not chosen by the community, I explore the problems of interaction within the art environment, drawing a parallel with the problems of communication in modern society between individuals and the political environment.
